Let us know how Jesus at Home has impacted you or your family:
Scripture
" And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:24-25
Observation
Community has always been essential. Even centuries ago, when the early church was just beginning, they knew the value of a community of faith-filled, encouraging, and loving people. And like today, there were people back in the days of the early church who seriously undervalued the benefit of doing life with others.
Application
Do you personally see the value of a vibrant church community? A healthy church is built of people who are simultaneously receiving and giving to one another. We receive encouragement, community, teaching, and challenging to more fully honor and follow God. But we should not just consume, but also contribute, being generous with our encouragement, involvement, and generosity. Here's a question to ask yourself honestly today:
Do I "go" to my church?
Am I "part" of my church?
There's a great beauty and joy that comes from the church and it's people giving to and serving one another at the same time, and it's how God designed it to be.
Prayer
God, thank you for your church, not just Oaks Church, but across the globe. Help me to see how valuable a healthy church is and the responsibility I have to participate in making it a healthy and valuable place for others. Show me how I can better lean into what the church has for me and what I can give to it. In Jesus Name, Amen.
