Jesus @ Home | 1st Peter Week 3
Updated: Oct 15

Let us know how Jesus at Home has impacted you or your family:
Scripture
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." - 1 Peter 2:9
Observation
Peter describes us as chosen, royal, holy, and special to God–what a beautiful identity God has given us! He has chosen us, first and foremost, to be his people and to have a relationship with him. But there is another purpose for which God chose us: to declare his praises to the world. God has given us new life and a new identity, not just for ourselves, but so that our lives would be a testimony to the world of God’s redemptive power.
Application How does the way you think of yourself differ from the things God says about you? Do you truly see yourself as chosen, royal, holy, and special? That’s exactly how God describes you, and he’s never wrong. Before we can do what God has called us to do, we have to know who he has called us to be. We are called by God to be his chosen people, selected for the specific purpose of telling others about what he has done in our lives. Take time today to think of some people you know who need to hear your testimony. God wants to use you to do in their lives what he has done in yours.
Prayer
God, thank you for the new identity you have given me. Help me to believe that the things
you’ve said about me are true, and to live with confidence and boldness as a result. I ask that you would use me to reach people who don’t yet know you. Give me the courage to boldly share my testimony so that others can receive the same identity you’ve given me. Amen.
