Jesus @ Home | 1st Peter Week 2

Let us know how Jesus at Home has impacted you or your family:
Scripture
"Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy." - 1 Peter 1:13–16
Observation
The big idea is simple: Because Jesus gave you a new life, you should live a new way.
Being "holy" does not mean we are meant to be perfect or weird—it means being set apart for God. Some things are "sin issues" but other things are "set-apart" issues. Sometimes we have to dig deeper and ask: "Is this something God is calling me to be set-apart from?" Rather than only asking: "Is this sinful?" And we don’t live differently to earn God’s love. Jesus already paid the ultimate price to redeem us. Obedience is our response to His love, not our attempt to earn it.
Application
Following Jesus isn’t just about getting saved—it’s also about GROWING. Peter tells us to get rid of things that poison and hinder our lives and relationships and instead “crave” the things that help us grow spiritually. Ask: What influences am I allowing to shape my speech, thinking, and actions? What we consistently watch, listen to, think about, and consume will eventually shape what we desire. in other words: What you feed grows. What you starve dies. Don’t let culture decide who you become. Choose Jesus!
Prayer
Jesus, Thank You for giving me a new life and paying the ultimate price for me. Help me not to conform to the world around me, but to become who You have called me to be. Give me a hunger for Your Word and help me remove anything from my life that keeps me from growing closer to You. Shape my thoughts, desires, relationships, and decisions so that my life looks more like You. Amen!

Father I thank you for the continued work you do in my life. Lead me and guide me every day. Help me to be more like you and less of me.
Amen
