SCRIPTURE - Revelation 4:8-11
Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”
Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”
OBSERVATION
This strange description of God's throne room comes from the book of Revelation, where John is given a vision of the glory of heaven. John witnesses the behavior of not only these angelic creatures, but also a gathering of elders to worship the creator of the universe.
The angels are described as worshipping God without ever ceasing, declaring His holiness. The elders follow, echoing that God is worthy to receive all glory and honor, because God is the one from whom all things come.
APPLICATION
When was the last time that you stopped to remember God's holiness? His perfection? His righteousness? In the same way that God fills in the gaps where our parents fall short, God's holiness fills in the gaps where we fall short ourselves. It's easy to forget this and to take it for granted.
The supreme, perfect creator of the universe, who is a fully good and holy God, makes Himself available to us. While God never wants us to feel insignificant, it's a good thing for us to occasionally remember how small we are in comparison to the eternal God we are called to serve. He is holy - worthy and deserving of all glory.
PRAYER
Take time today to reflect on this beautiful truth: God is perfect, without flaws of any kind. That perfect God created you, loves you, and cares for you. That perfect God covers all of your imperfections. Thank Him for this gift.
"God, thank you for your holiness. Help me to see and worship your perfection. Help me have a heart that longs to give you the worship, honor, and glory you deserve. Help me to continue in this fast with a heart of worship. In Jesus' name, amen."

Amen! He truly is worthy of it ALL. Yesterday I reached 8 years of freedom from drug addiction and all I could do was continuously thank God for breaking the chains, breaking the generational curses for my children and praise Him for where He has brought me out of and the places I know He is taking me in the years to come! Without Him I couldn’t do it, He had to become greater- I had to become less. What an amazing God we serve. Hallelujah!!
