MEET PASTOR BRIAN About Brian Galbraith My family: On May 7, 1994, Dana and I were married and we have three incredible children. Emily (husband Jaxon), Tyler (wife Marissa), and Andrew. Ministry Role: As Care Pastor, I lead a team of people who love to provide direction and counsel to those who are struggling, comfort to those who have lost a loved one, and care for those who are sick. Dream vacation: Anywhere in Europe. Regular order at Starbucks: Venti Blonde Flat White. Favorite movie: Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Borne Trilogy. Favorite scripture: Galatians 2:20 – “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Things that fascinate me: Our skin fascinates me. It is strong, sensitive, pliable, durable, etc. I am amazed at how a cut heals itself. Also, when you cut your finger, how does your fingerprint regenerate? I could continue… People who inspire me are: Dana and my dad. Previous job or line of work: I served Windham Assembly of God in Windham, ME for almost 17 years as Youth Pastor, Executive Pastor, and then as Lead Pastor. One thing that most people don’t know about me: That I have been on almost 20 different foreign short-term missions trips. When and where I got saved: Trinity Assembly of God in Derry, NH when I was seven. Music that moves me: I love listening to worship music and I am a big fan of jazz and old world fiddle. Favorite singer or band: Jesus Culture, Kari Jobe, Bill Evans, Diana Krall, Wynton Marsalis, Miles Davis, Alasdair Frasier and Natalie Haas, and Bela Fleck & The Flecktones. Peeves: I think feet are gross. Going bowling can be a stressful experience. Life-changing moment: Accepting Jesus into my life, followed by when I married Dana and when each of our three children were born. Hidden talent: I can play the piano and the trumpet. Favorite book: That is an impossible question because I love to read, and often, my favorite book is the book I am currently reading. But if I had to pick a book besides the Bible that has impacted my life, it would be In the Name of Jesus by Henri Nouwen. In my spare time I… love to play golf but I wish I were better at it. Favorite TV show: Seinfeld, The Office, Blue Bloods. What makes me laugh: Sarcastic humor. Weird quirks: I often have a melody playing in my head, and I can turn anything into a drum kit. Steering wheels make the best drum kits. The most adventurous thing I’ve ever done: In 1994 I spent a month in Pakistan sharing the gospel. My hero: My dad. Least favorite thing to do: Cleaning the bathroom, which reminds me…

  • Oaks Church | Red Oak, TX | Pastor Scott

MEET PASTORS SCOTT + JENNI About Scott Wilson Scott Wilson has been in full-time pastoral ministry for more than 30 years. He is the Global Pastor of Oaks Church located in Red Oak, Texas—ministering to thousands of people each week. He helped his father, Dr. Tom Wilson, start one of the most innovative public school systems in the State of Texas. Life School currently educates 5,600 K-12 students in ten locations throughout the Dallas area. Additionally, because of Scott’s desire to train Kingdom leaders, he created the Oaks School of Leadership, a specialized ministry training school on the campus of Oaks Church that has sent out over 500 leaders into full-time, vocational ministry. Scott’s burning passion is that each generation would grow bigger, better, and stronger because of the investment and intentionality of the previous generation. For decades, he has poured his life into younger pastors, church planters, and leaders so that his ceiling would be their floor. In 2019, with the vision of planting thousands of churches, he launched “The Father Initiative,” a ministry dedicated to multiplying spiritual fathers and mothers to multiply churches. In his most recent book, “Parenting with Purpose,” Scott draws from his experience as a Dad to help parents raise world-changers. He is the author of several other books including “P3: Praying in the Spirit, with Understanding, and In Agreement,” “Ready, Set, Grow: 3 Conversations That Will Bring Lasting Growth to Your Church,” and “Steering Through Chaos: Mapping a Clear Direction in the midst of transition and change.” Scott is a loving husband and proud father. Scott and his wife, Jenni, have been married for almost 30 years and have three sons and two daughters-in-law: Dillon and Holly, Hunter and Emily, and Dakota.

  • Oaks Church | Red Oak, TX | Foster Adoptive Families

Foster Care & Adoption Have a heart for children in foster care? Interested in adoption? Here at the Oaks, we serve our community – learn how you can serve foster and adoptive families. VOLUNTEER NOW CONTACT Being a Foster Parent Being a foster parent is one way to help a foster child, but it isn’t the only way. This work takes a team approach and sometimes the best thing you can do is bring dinner. You may wonder how dinner helps, other than just the physical provision of food, but the time you invest in making that meal is time that foster parents can invest in relationship building with the child. There are so many other examples– bringing diapers, having groceries delivered, praying for the child and family, dropping off coffee for an exhausted mom, taking their bio or adopted kids on a fun adventure so the focus can be on the foster child, providing childcare so the family can go to court. There is a wrong impression that doing something for foster kids requires actually being the one to invest in the foster kid. What many of us know is that when you invest in the foster FAMILY or the foster PARENTS you are actually doing the best thing possible for the foster child. They need to bond with those parents. They need to feel safe and loved by consistent adults who can provide nurture, structure and stability for them. They don’t need a rotating parade of adults in and out of their lives to say nice things to them. When you can build into the foster parents, the foster child will reap the rewards. Local Foster Care & Adoption NEED: North Texas is in need of people who have a calling to become foster and/or adoptive parents to children in need of a home.
